River City will be a collection of 5 buildings built over the next seven to ten years. The first phase of River City is bein g launched in early 2010 and will be ready for occupancy starting in 2012.
River City will be located south of King Street East, between River Street and the Don River. River City will be Toronto's first LEED GOLD, CARBON NEUTRAL residential developement, based on four key actions. 1) Reduce as much as possible what it takes to build and then live in River City. 2) Create a healthy living environment. 3) Reduce as much as possible wahat we actually throw back into the environment. 4) Offset any remaining impacts so River City is carbon neutral overall.

River City is built by Urban Capital Property Group. The company has constructed or currently has under development over 3,000 residential units in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Typically among the first developers in a new district, Urban Capital has also been an innovator in terms of architectural design and environmental sustainability.

West Don Lands began its like as a dockside working class neighbourhood and was first settled in the 1850's as a mix of light industrial buildings, laneways and working cottages. Jump ahead to 2010 and it is returning to its original roots as a vibrant community forming a key part of the city fabric.
River City is more than just buildings and streets, but rather an entire neighbourhood and community, one that is alive, healthy and green, and, right in the heart of the city.

At River City, Waterfront Toronto is building on of the largest parks in Toronto. A $15 million, 18 acre urban oasis by Boston-based Michael Van Valkenberg and Associates. Don River Park will be a lush urban retreat of rolling hills, native woodlands and open lawns.
Toronto's winning bid for the 2015 Pan Am Games is an enormous boost for the West Don Lands, which is the site of the games 2,100 unit Athletes Village. Designed and managed by Waterfront Toronto, this village will be a showcase of modern design, sustainable architecture, and technological innovation, all touchstones of River City itself and guaranteed to be in place by the summer of 2015.
